Our Blended Learning BLS Course Module

Our BLS Blended Learning Course is designed to be completed in approximately 4-6 hours. It includes convenient online modules followed by an in-person skills session for hands-on practice and assessment. After completing both phases of the course, you will be ready to acquire your BLS certification on the same day you finish the test. Here is a detailed overview of what will be covered in each module:

Online Module

This segment, which can be completed at your own pace over approximately 3-4 hours, covers:

  • Access to online resources, including videos, readings, and interactive quizzes.
  • Detailed instruction on CPR techniques, airway management, AED use, and choking relief.
  • Information on legal and ethical considerations in emergency care.

In-Person Skills Session

Held at our facility for about 20 min – 1 hour, this session includes:

  • Hands-on practice of CPR, airway management, and AED use guided by a computer and manikin.
  • Instructors will not be physically present during the skills session; however, they will be accessible remotely if assistance is required.
  • Skills assessment through practical demonstrations and scenario-based evaluations, with guidance provided via the computer.

What will You Learn in Our BLS Course?

CPR Techniques and First Aid

  • Latest CPR techniques, including chest compressions, rescue breaths, and ventilation devices.
  • Assessment of victim’s condition and effective CPR administration.
  • Basic first aid for various medical emergencies.
  • Training in multiple rescuer CPR and single rescuer CPR scenarios.

Use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)

  • Hands-on training in operating AEDs.
  • AEDs deliver electric shock to restore normal heart rhythm during sudden cardiac arrest.
  • Safe and efficient AED operation for maximizing survival chances.

Airway Management

  • Fundamentals of airway management.
  • Techniques such as Head-Tilt-Chin-Lift and Jaw-Thrust methods.
  • Ensuring adequate oxygenation and ventilation during emergencies.

Recognition of Life-Threatening Emergencies

  • Early recognition of signs and symptoms of common medical emergencies.
  • Importance of timely intervention for improved outcomes.
  • Assessment of the victim’s condition, intervention prioritization, and activation of emergency medical services (EMS) when necessary.

BLS Certification Renewal in RENO

CPR Training Reno also conducts BLS renewal classes. BLS Certifications are valid only for 2 years from the date of acquisition. So, for renewals, you should apply for the BLS renewal classes before the expiry date. The AHA used to provide 60 days grace period. But now, there is no grace period. So, students should renew their certification before the expiry date. You just need to check the expiry date on your BLS certification card and enroll in a recertification program. Join our BLS renewal course, and you can get your BLS recertification in just 20 minutes to 1 hour. If the time frame exceeds, students must take both online training and skill tests for BLS certificate.
